Getting outside

SUN 11/07/10
WOD - Mountain bike riding - 3 hours

Today's workout isn't one you could really time, measure or replicate but it was an awesome way to spend some time in the first hours of the morning. This morning at around 6:30 John and i left for Mt. Kiera to take on some old tracks, and some new ones in a combination of uphill and downhill. I must say i had one of the best mornings out I've ever had , Cara's dad has been into bike riding for longer than I've probably been alive and is in better condition than i am, which was excellent for pushing me to better myself.

We started out with an "easy" ride toward the lookout and the sand proved more than difficult on the bike i was riding, but at the end of the small ride we came to an old signal tower and service hut that sat against the lookout where these photos were taken, and let me tell you these photo's do not do the view any justice, the sun licking through the clouds, rain on the horizon and fog amongst the hills was truly amazing.

The whole session had everything; fast hills, slow hills, sections that had to be walked, slips, trips, falls and good flat sections. I was sweating and heaving right the way through, but kept up all the way and can already see the improvements i have achieved, it felt great to display and use them in a real world setting.

I know i said i would give a run down on the gym this weekend, and i have gathered all the info and taken several photos, but just don't have the time this weekend to put it all on the site, so i will postpone it and probably trickle the info in throughout the week.

Until then i hope everyone uses their new found fitness to get out there and see the great world around us...

P.s. i will also catch up on yesterdays workout this afternoon and it will entail

WOD - AMRAP 20min

105kg Deadlift x 9, Muscle ups x 8, 65kg Squat clean x 9.
